White River 50M (USATF 50 Mile Trail Championships)

In your lifetime, if there is ever a 50 Mile trail race that you want to run, put White River 50M at the top of your bucket list. This past weekend(7/31) did not disappoint by any stretch of the imagination. Anton Krupicka from Boulder, CO blistered the course once again, lowering his own 2009 CR(6:32:07) by running (6:25:29). Incredible to say the least. What is even more impressive is that 2nd Place OA went to 19 year old Dakota Jones, becoming the 3rd fastest runner ever over this course with a time of (6:49:20).

I write this small post because I have first hand knowledge of this race. Ran it back in 2005 as my first 50M trail race and finished 25th OA(9:02:50). And I will go back. I still can't get over the view in this pic as I was climbing my way to Suntop, the highest point on the course. Mt. Rainier is so visible you could touch it. Copyright © 2005 Glenn Tachiyama
